Head of Sustainable Living at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, Hong Kong
Idy Wong is head of the Sustainable Living and Agriculture Department at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden in Hong Kong. In that role she has led work on the KFBG Green Hub, the conservation and revitalisation project run by her department, and she has spoken publicly about its development.
She is part of the teaching team for Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden's 2026 Permaculture Design Certificate course, which the garden co-created with the Ark Eden Foundation and an interdisciplinary group of practitioners and educators. The course sits alongside the wider sustainable living and agriculture programme she oversees at KFBG.
Her academic background combines the sciences with the humanities. She holds a degree in biochemistry, a postgraduate certificate in environmental education, and master's degrees in Buddhist Studies, Sustainable Agriculture and Community Development. She has also taken professional training in organic certification, permaculture design and ecovillage design education, work she took up in order to engage with global challenges of regeneration and transformation.
She takes part in IPC16, the International Permaculture Convergence, in Thailand in 2026.
