I have been part of the Wanakaset (Forest Gardening + Self-Reliance) movement here in Thailand and the larger network is S, SE Asia and beyond for over 20 years.
While I was exposed to Permaculture nearly 30 years ago through Bill Mollison’s works, my knowledge was broadened in a PDC I joined in 2006 with Darren Doherty here in Thailand. After this, I helped in the process to obtain rights for มูลนิธิสายใยแผ่นดิน to translate “Introduction to Permaculture” and in this also linked with others in Thailand identifying as Permaculture practitioners/ communities.
This led to me joining the 2nd Thailand Permaculture Convergence, and then coordinating the 3rd TPC at Wanakaset near my home with our network, and joining future convergences, including IPC India and IPC Taiwan.
I have facilitated connection and exchange such as helping interpret for and support โชคดี ปรโลกานนท์ (ลุงโชค) at IPC India and in a visit by Larry Korn (who translated Fukuoka’s “One Straw Revolution”) to visit Pooyai Viboon’s Wanakaset (which was visited by Fukuoka many years ago) and โชคดี ปรโลกานนท์ (ลุงโชค)’s Garden and Bamboo Wisdom School.
