Franco-New Zealander applying permaculture in urban and social contexts in Hong Kong and China
Paule is a Franco-New Zealander working at the intersection of regenerative agriculture and ecosystem restoration, education, public affairs and community work. Formally trained in political science and economics in France and in China, Paule retrained in agriculture and gained hands-on experience by working on a small farm for two years. Passionate about holistic design, she is committed to applying permaculture in urban and social contexts in Asia.
Currently based in Hong Kong and with strong ties to mainland China, Paule led the organisation of the first collaborative, multi-location Permaculture Design Course in Hong Kong in spring 2026, a partnership between multiple stakeholders including Chinese PDC teachers.
Paule completed her PDC with Geoff Lawton and her Permaculture Teacher Training with Rosemary Morrow at Kadoorie in Hong Kong. She holds active experience from her land in France, where she is leading a multi-stakeholder water restoration project in collaboration with a golf course. Paule is also a registered yoga teacher and writes on Substack about her observations of ecology and permaculture in China.
