Council Secretary of Permaculture for Refugees and trainer in ecovillage design

Trudy Juriansz is Council Secretary and administrator of Permaculture for Refugees, the network usually shortened to P4R, which brings permaculture practice into refugee and displacement contexts.

She completed her first Permaculture Design Course in Thailand in 2010 and has been designing and managing gardens and farms of various kinds ever since. She holds a graduate degree in sustainability education and is an accredited trainer in ecovillage design and in Analog Forestry. Her practical work has run along two lines, education and land restoration.

She co-founded a democratic school in Thailand for refugees and migrants from Myanmar, and she managed an education centre and ecological farm in Sri Lanka whose focus is forest ecosystem restoration, using permaculture, analog forestry and ecovillage design together. Alongside P4R she is connected to the Global Ecovillage Network, whose site lists her as a networking director and carries writing under her name.

She takes part in IPC16, the International Permaculture Convergence, in Thailand in 2026.
