Chair of Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation, working on rural revitalisation, youth and sustainability

Wong Kam Sing (KS Wong) was Hong Kong's Secretary for the Environment from 2012 to 2022. During his ten-year tenure he initiated a series of sustainability policy blueprints covering climate action, energy saving, clean air, electric vehicles, waste management and the circular economy, and biodiversity, leading Hong Kong towards carbon neutrality before 2050. In 2024 he published the book Hong Kong Stories in the Journey towards Carbon Neutrality.

He is a Distinguished Department of Architecture Fellow and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at The University of Hong Kong, and Honorary Professor at Hong Kong Chu Hai College. Since late 2022 he has chaired the Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation, leading rural revitalisation projects in Mainland China and Hong Kong that integrate youth development and low-carbon transformation.

As an architect he has worked on sustainable architecture since the early 1990s, contributing to award-winning projects and research from the high-density public housing estate Verbena Heights to the CIC-Zero Carbon Park. He was the founding chairman of the Environment and Sustainable Development Building Council (2009 to 2010) and vice chairman of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (2012).
