Where global permaculture meets Thai wisdom
Permaculture started in 1970s Australia with Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. A design system for working with nature, not against it. The Permaculture Design Course (PDC) now travels the world.
Thailand has its own deep tradition. King Bhumibol's Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and the Wanakaset (Thai agroforestry) movement have shaped Thai land for generations. This directory connects the two: Thai practitioners with ancestral knowledge alongside international designers running PDCs, food forests, schools, ecovillages and natural builders.
In November 2026, the two streams meet in person. IPC16 brings practitioners from around the world together with Thai farmers, builders and educators for ten days of bilingual exchange. Thailand's first turn hosting the global convergence.
