Suan Loong Choke (Uncle Choke’s Garden) is a unique agroforestry and bamboo learning center set within a thriving forest landscape. Rooted in the philosophy of self-reliance, the garden is built around fulfilling the Four Basic Human Needs—food, shelter, clothing, and medicine—through the sustainable cultivation of bamboo and forest ecosystems.

Visitors can stay in simple cottages, shared dormitory spaces, or scenic campsites surrounded by bamboo forest and hillside views. The space is designed for both quiet retreats and large group gatherings, with open activity grounds and pavilions that can host workshops, seminars, and community events.

The garden is also a hub for hands-on education, offering training in agroforestry, reforestation, bamboo cultivation, bamboo construction, and charcoal (biochar) production. Bamboo is central to everything here—from nurseries and harvesting to value-added products like furniture, treated building poles, activated carbon, and eco-friendly wellness goods.

Beyond farming, Suan Loong Choke promotes a holistic farm-to-table lifestyle with healthy meals, natural wellness practices, and opportunities to explore biodiversity, traditional bamboo crafts, and sustainable rural living. Group visits are welcome by appointment, and volunteers with creative design skills are invited to contribute to bamboo product development and artistic projects.
