A family-run organic farmstay sharing hands-on Isaan farm life in Ubon Ratchathani.

Suan Na Ta Bua (สวนนาตาบัว) is an organic farmstay and homestay in Phibun Mangsahan district, about an hour east of Ubon Ratchathani city in Thailand's northeastern Isaan region. Run by husband-and-wife hosts P'Rung and P'Kek, it is a working organic farm of rice paddies, a greenhouse, a model farm and fish ponds, where guests live alongside the family and share in the daily rhythm of farm life.

The farmstay is built around agritourism and community-based ecotourism: rather than watching from the sidelines, visitors plant and harvest rice, mix compost, shape adobe bricks for natural building, fish the ponds, and cook farm-to-table Isaan meals from the day's harvest. Stays are all-inclusive, with three organic meals a day, and guests can also join P'Rung and P'Kek at local markets, festivals and visits to neighbouring organic farms.

P'Rung and P'Kek are active in the wider Isaan organic movement. They are members of Ubon's PGS (Participatory Guarantee System) organic cooperative, partner with Ubon Ratchathani University, and the farm has been recognised by Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture as a case study for agritourism, a pilot project for growing ecotourism and organic farming across the region.

With pleasant cool-season weather from November to February, lush green paddies through the rains, and lively festivals in the hot months, Suan Na Ta Bua offers an authentic, unhurried way to connect with rural Isaan life at your own pace.

How to Get There:

Suan Na Ta Bua is in Phibun Mangsahan district, about 500 km east of Bangkok and a one-hour drive east of Ubon Ratchathani city. Guests driving can find it on Google Maps, with parking on site. The hosts offer pickup from Ubon Ratchathani airport, train station or bus terminal (around 800฿, roughly an hour), and free pickup from the local bus station in Phibun Mangsahan for those arriving by local bus.

Visiting Policy:

Suan Na Ta Bua is an all-inclusive farmstay with daily, weekly and monthly rates from 800฿ per night, covering three organic meals a day, accommodation and farm activities; a room-only rate is also available. Families and larger groups can be arranged directly with the hosts. Stays are booked in advance by phone, WhatsApp or the website contact form.
