Self-taught German farmer and primitivist writer co-stewarding a Chanthaburi food forest.
Originally from Germany, Dave arrived in Thailand in 2014 as a farm volunteer in Krabi and spent two years before co-founding Feun Foo Permaculture & Rewilding in Chanthaburi in late 2018. Working from an 8-rai hillside plot in the foothills of the Cardamom Mountains, he and Karn practice what they call 'primitive permaculture' - building soil, planting a diverse food jungle, keeping livestock, harvesting from a spring-fed pond, and cooking almost exclusively on open fire. Entirely self-taught with no formal diplomas, Dave writes cultural and philosophical essays on his Substack 'An Animist's Ramblings' (2,000+ subscribers), covering primitivism, animism, ecology, and society's trajectory.
