Manish Jain

Manish Jain is the co-founder of the Ecoversities Alliance, a global network connecting alternative higher education and learning spaces. A leading voice in decolonising education, he also co-founded Swaraj University in Udaipur, India, and is a key figure behind the Indian Multiversities Alliance, and serves as coordinator of Shikshantar Andolan, a people's institute advocating unlearning and gift culture. His 'walk-out, walk-on' frameworks challenge mainstream, diploma-focused schooling in favour of regenerative, community-rooted knowledge, 'Alivelihoods' and earth regeneration. Formerly an investment banker with Morgan Stanley and a consultant for USAID and the World Bank, he walked away from Wall Street and Harvard to pursue community-based education. He is passionate about urban organic farming, filmmaking, group facilitation, clowning, intercultural dialogue and slow-food cooking.
